As the tradition goes, the wedding day is normally for the bride. In actuality, it’s a day to celebrate the joining of two people preparing to spend the rest of their lives together. It can’t get much more romantic than that. You can find tips for the bride on your wedding day, but it isn’t often that people hand out tips to the groom on his big day. We’ve compiled a list of some of the basics from various wedding professionals.

Wedding Day Grooming

You want to look your best on your big day, just like anyone else. Make sure you are getting the final touches to your grooming. You can get your hair cut a few days before the actual wedding, but on the day of, spend the morning doing any waxing, shaving and other “manscaping” that you feel necessary. There is nothing wrong with wanting to have a clean shaven, non-stubbled face or taming your eyebrows. Make sure you are doing these the day of to avoid any five o’clock shadows or have prickly hairs that could impede on that magical kiss as you become husband and wife.

Give your bride-to-be a gift

Brownie points will definitely be given if you give a gift to your bride on the day of the wedding. Arrange someone to give it to her if you plan on maintaining the tradition of not seeing the bride until the ceremony. This could be jewelry, flowers, or even better, something that resembles your life together. Think of something sentimental that will really make her remember all of the reasons why she wants to spend the rest of her life with you.

Have your own emergency kit

You never know what could happen on your big day which is why an emergency kit is always necessary. Make sure to include a needle, thread, dental hygiene essentials, extra buttons, shoe shine nail clippers or pain reliever. There is always the chance that even the smallest thing could go wrong when you want your big day to be perfect, so don’t chance it. Be prepared for the tiniest rip or the slightest of headaches.

We all know that if there is alcohol at your wedding, the groomsmen may want to calm your nerves with a celebratory beverage. Eat a small meal or a snack to make sure that you aren’t drinking on an empty stomach. You don’t want to feel like you are at a tailgate party as you wait at the front of the alter for your bride to walk down. Not to mention, if you drank the night before in celebration it can help you if you have been drinking more than normal. No one can blame you, it’s all about the celebration!

There are many of the small tips and tricks that people share about their wedding day. There is normally just as much to think about for the groom as there is the bride. Don’t be afraid to ask for help either. It’s okay if you don’t want to let it show that you are nervous, that is why you can have your best man help you with all of these essentials. He is your best man of course.
