A Cape wedding sounds different — a ceremony over the dune grass, cocktail hour with the harbor behind it, a tent that fills with everyone you love. It also comes with real logistics: wind over an outdoor ceremony, sound limits at beach clubs, guests arriving from three time zones. We've been DJing New England weddings for over 45 years, and we plan every Cape date the same way — load-in, layout, ceremony sound that beats the sea breeze, and a timeline your planner can trust. The music's the easy part when the plan is right.

MARX entertainment has been part of Cape Cod weddings for decades — beachfront resort receptions, sailcloth tents on the bluff, golf club ballrooms, and village inns from Falmouth to Provincetown. The Cape is a destination market, and destination weddings reward a DJ who plans like a producer: we advance every detail before your day, because on a Saturday in July there's no room for guesswork.

What you actually get when you hire us: a professional DJ who also MCs your entire reception. They'll manage introductions, coordinate with your photographer and planner on timing, handle toasts and special dances, read the crowd in real time, and keep the dance floor packed from first dance to last call.

We build the music plan with you — your must-plays, your do-not-plays, your vibe for each part of the night — and then our DJs adapt based on what's actually happening in the room. Because a playlist is a starting point, not a script. The best wedding DJs know when to follow the plan and when to pivot.

Cape weddings come in every flavor — toes-in-the-sand ceremonies, formal beach club receptions, backyard tents in the village, and country club celebrations overlooking the water. Our DJs adapt to the venue and the crowd, not the other way around — and our ceremony systems are built for outdoor sound, wind and all.

Beyond DJ services, we provide everything you need under one roof: draping that transforms any tent, uplighting and bistro lights, photo booths with custom prints and scrapbooks, furniture and lounge rentals, and custom décor. Most couples bundle 2–3 services — and working with one company for all of it means fewer vendors to coordinate on a wedding weekend where half your guests are staying on-Cape.

We're transparent about pricing. Most Cape Cod wedding DJ packages start around $3,000 and scale with event length and included services. Use the form on this page to build your custom package and see pricing instantly — no waiting for a callback, no bait-and-switch.

Cape Cod wedding DJ — frequently asked questions

Most Cape Cod wedding DJ packages start around $3,000, depending on event length and services. That includes up to 6 hours of DJ/MC, ceremony sound, cocktail hour sound, dance floor lighting, and all equipment. Uplighting, draping, photo booths, and décor are popular add-ons. Yes — beach ceremonies and tented receptions are what the Cape does best, and we're built for them: battery-powered ceremony sound for windy shorelines, weather-planned equipment, and coordination with your tent company and planner on power and layout.

Yes — we regularly DJ outdoor ceremonies and receptions throughout the region. We bring weather-appropriate equipment, backup gear, and arrive early for outdoor setup. For beaches and venues without built-in power, we have battery packs that can be added on, or we coordinate generator needs in advance.

Constantly — much of our destination-wedding work comes through planners. We do venue walk-throughs, provide COIs directly to venues, and coordinate the reception timeline with your planner and photographer so every cue lands.

The Cape's season is concentrated — for Saturday dates between May and October, 8 to 12 months out is ideal, and peak-summer Saturdays go earliest. Friday and Sunday dates are more flexible. We hold dates on a first-come basis, so if your venue is set, reach out early.

Yes — ceremony sound is included in every package. You get a separate onsite sound system with a handheld mic for your officiant, a clip-on mic for vows, and music for prelude, processional, and recessional. Works at both indoor and outdoor venues — we have battery-powered systems for beach ceremonies far from a power source.

Yes. Your DJ handles all announcements and timeline flow — grand entrance, toasts, first dances, cake cutting, bouquet toss, and more. We coordinate timing with your planner and photographer so everything runs smoothly.
