Our mission has always been, and is today, to deliver remarkable experiences that exceed expectations in terms of music, entertainment, and overall ambience. Celebrating over 35 years of producing high-powered events, MARX entertainment has evolved as one of the busiest disc jockey service in New England. From its inception in 1979 as a one-system operation, the company performs before more than 100,000 people each year and has included the President of the United States and international personalities as clients. As a young DJ, consummate entertainer and owner Mark Ashe had the vision to take the DJ out of the club and onto the traditional turf of the live entertainer to make the DJ the preferred choice for wedding and corporate events. Mark drew on early skills acquired while earning a college degree in Telecommunication Technology and successfully completing an internship at radio station ROCK 102. To realize his vision, he trained a cadre of disc jockeys while building an outstanding public image foundational to his company.

In 1993 Ashe established the first mobile disc jockey school ever to be licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Education, and he gained state approval for writing a comprehensive DJ curriculum.

Sound business practices and utilizing his passion for music that encompasses the spectrum of genres have allowed Mark to change the definition of a disc jockey in relation to American dance culture. In fact, Mark’s professionalism has made him an energetic leader in the industry. He spins behind the turntable, produces, teaches, consults, and as a contributing editor, has been published in Mobile Beat Magazine (NY), DJ Times (NJ), and the Wedding Day Sourcebook (MA). In addition, this gifted performer has authored a question and answer column for prospective brides. Furthermore, the national publications of the DJ Sales & Marketing Handbook and the Mobile DJ Handbook have featured Mark Ashe as a cameo DJ.

As fluent as Mark has become in an extensive range of styles, he has articulated his leadership several times as a guest panel member at the International Disc Jockey Convention. It was in Atlantic City where Mark was named one of the ten top disc jockeys in America in the only nation-wide DJ competition.

Mark Ashe’s professional affiliations have included, but are not limited to, N.A.M.E., the National Association of Music Entertainers, A.D.J.A., the American Disc Jockey Association, and G.M.E.A., Global Mobile Entertainers Association, Inc..

MARX entertainment has earned rave reviews from major corporations, banquet facilities, and other satisfied clients. Nike, McDonald’s Corporation, Yankee Candle Company, Ryder Truck, Mass Mutual Life Insurance Company, Roto Rooter, Home Depot, BJ’s Wholesale Warehouse, J.C. Penney, Sheraton Hotels, Sunoco Oil, Sears, American Saw Company, Konica, and Merrill Lynch are but a few of the well-known clients of MARX. But civic responsibility has also influenced the growth of MARX. Among the many charitable performances they include the March of Dimes, Special Olympics, United States Marine Corps, Democratic National Convention, Basketball Hall of Fame, Cerebral Palsy Santa Run, and Brightside. In fact, MARX has donated thousands of hours to children’s organizations, police and fire departments, chambers of commerce, schools, senior centers, and churches and synagogues much too numerous to mention.
